MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,135 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 290 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The XCub aircraft departed from runway 11 at Elk Park Ranch Airport, rolling down the runway and taking off after a distance of 349 meters, which accounted for 78% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 44 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots blowing from a direction of 269 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a tailwind of 5 knots.
After taking off, the aircraft entered a level cruise, flying overhead the Elk Park Ranch Airport and Allenspark in Colorado, United States. This leg of the flight lasted for 17 minutes and covered a distance of 26 nautical miles. The aircraft then began an enroute climb, ascending from an altitude of 8,620 feet above sea level to 17,012 feet above sea level, an increase of 8,392 feet, in 14 minutes and covering 22 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued to fly in level cruise mode, starting from 4 miles east of Georgetown, Colorado, and lasting for 2 minutes, covering 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then began a descent from 17,006 feet above sea level to 15,834 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,173 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles. The descent started 4 miles northeast of Keystone, Colorado.
The aircraft then began another climb, ascending from 15,839 feet above sea level to 16,996 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,157 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 13 nautical miles. This climb started 2 miles north of Keystone, Colorado. The aircraft continued to fly in level cruise mode, starting from 5 miles southeast of Vail, Colorado, and lasting for 2 minutes, covering 15 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began a descent from 16,999 feet above sea level to 8,329 feet above sea level, a decrease of 8,670 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 18 nautical miles. This descent started 7 miles south of Edwards, Colorado. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 15 at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field), flying from the north at a heading of 160.0 degrees and at an altitude of 640 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 15 at Aspen-Pitkin County Airport, with a runway length of 2,135 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 60 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 289 meters, and the touchdown speed was 50 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was perfect at 30 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots blowing from a direction of 269 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 573 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.6 meters from the centerline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking less than 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 117 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 51 minutes. The aircraft used 24 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The XCub aircraft successfully landed at KASE Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (Sardy Field) with a score of 95.1%. The final approach was initiated from the north, heading 160.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 640 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on runway 15, which has a length of 2,135 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 60 knots. The touchdown distance of 289 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 50 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of 30 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 269°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. Despite these conditions, the aircraft performed well, with the total landing distance of 573 meters being only 27% of the runway length.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft being 10.6 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment was the only notable issue during the landing, and it did not significantly impact the overall performance of the aircraft. Overall, the XCub aircraft demonstrated excellent landing skills, and the pilot's ability to navigate challenging weather conditions was impressive.
