MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,945 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,945 m of the 3,489 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 403 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 22 at EGSS London Stansted Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,517 meters, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 161 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 220 degrees. There was no crosswind, but a headwind of 3 knots was present. The aircraft began its enroute climb approximately 1 mile south east of Birchanger, Essex, England, and ascended from an altitude of 1,351 feet above sea level to 33,556 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,205 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 151 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase started overhead Ninove, Flanders, Belgium, and lasted for 39 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 876 nautical miles. The descent phase began approximately 2 miles west of Daesti, Valcea, Romania, and the aircraft descended from 33,462 feet above sea level to 1,573 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,889 feet, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 94 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26R at LROP Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport was made from the east, heading 264.0 degrees, at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,257 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on runway 26R, which had a length of 3,489 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 162 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 401 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 155 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -216 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -2 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 260 degrees. There was no crosswind, but a headwind of 2 knots was present.
The total landing distance was 1,868 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,129 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 80 minutes. The aircraft used 8,332 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LROP Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport on runway 26R. The final approach was executed from the east, heading 264.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,257 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency in its approach, achieving a score of 98.4%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, indicating a well-executed approach. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 162 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to maintain a higher speed for a smoother touchdown. The touchdown distance of 401 meters was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's descent and speed.
Despite a slightly fast touchdown speed of 155 knots, the aircraft's touchdown rate of -216 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, indicating a relatively smooth touchdown. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, showing that the pilot had maintained the aircraft's alignment with the runway during the final approach and touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -2°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 260°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 2 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed. The total landing distance of 1,868 meters was 54% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft had sufficient runway remaining for a safe stop.
During the rollout, the aircraft maintained perfect alignment with the runway, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed and direction after touchdown. Overall, the landing was executed with a high level of proficiency, and the aircraft's performance was consistent with the expected standards for a Boeing 737-800.
