Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 503 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 503 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 58 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 08 at AYNO Nomane Airport, where the Kodiak 100 aircraft took off with a takeoff distance of 231 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 66 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a tailwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from AYNO Nomane Airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 6,224 feet above sea level to 14,010 feet above sea level, an increase of 7,787 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 11 miles east of AYOZ Kora Airstrip and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles.
The enroute descent began 4 miles east of AYGD Gimi Airstrip Amusa, where the aircraft descended from an altitude of 14,003 feet above sea level to 4,991 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9,012 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The descent was followed by another level cruise, which started 2 miles northeast of AYQM Simogu Airstrip and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 16 at AYQM Simogu Airstrip was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 167.0 degrees at an altitude of -80 feet above ground level and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 60 knots and a touchdown distance of 56 meters. The touchdown rate was perfect at 337 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.9 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 268 degrees, resulting in a headwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 304 meters, which accounted for 60% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft used a total of 52 kilograms of fuel for the flight, which covered a distance of 49 nautical miles and took 26 minutes to complete.
The aircraft in question, a Kodiak 100, successfully landed at AYQM Simogu Airstrip with a score of 96.3%. The final approach to runway 16 was initiated from the north, heading 167.0° at an altitude of 0 nm and -80 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach to the runway was precise, with a good threshold height and a slightly below-target threshold speed of 62 kt.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 56 m and a touchdown speed of 60 kt, both of which were considered good. The touchdown rate was also perfect at 337 fpm, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.9 m from the centreline, which may require some adjustments in the future.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21 °C and a wind speed of 2 kt at 268°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 kt, while the headwind component was negligible at 0 kt. The total landing distance was 304 m, which accounted for 60% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft performing well in terms of speed, distance, and alignment. However, the slight misalignment of the touchdown position may require some attention to ensure that future landings are more precise.
