MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,679 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,679 m of the 2,253 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 527 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A319, then departed from runway 14 at LDRI Rijeka Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,298 meters, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 9 knots at a direction of 110 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 8 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south east of Omisalj, Croatia. The climb took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 115 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,184 feet above sea level to 35,599 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,415 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 27 miles south west of Primosten, Croatia. This phase lasted for 47 minutes and covered a distance of 310 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 9 miles north of Acquedolci, Italy. The descent took 26 minutes and covered a distance of 53 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 36,547 feet above sea level to 1,305 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,242 feet.
The final approach to runway 26 at LICC Catania-Fontanarossa Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 264.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26, which had a length of 2,253 meters. The threshold height at 62 feet above ground level was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 131 knots.
The touchdown point was 106 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 134 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -379 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 11 knots at a direction of 280 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,592 meters, which accounted for 71% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 485 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 1 hour and 6 minutes. The aircraft used 3,824 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, with a score of 90.9%. The final approach to runway 26 was initiated from the east, heading 264.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was executed with precision, with a threshold height of 62 feet agl, which was slightly above the target height.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 134 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was firm at -379 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 23°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 280°. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 11 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,592 meters, which accounted for 71% of the runway length. This indicates that the aircraft had sufficient runway remaining for safe deceleration. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the critical phase of landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely on the runway. While there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, the pilot's skill and experience ensured a safe and controlled landing.
