Keep the wings level on final
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,118 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 518 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 34R at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). The aircraft, a PC-12, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 81 kt, covering a distance of 433 m, which was 12% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 26 °C and a wind speed of 11 kt from a direction of 280°, resulting in a crosswind of 11 kt and a headwind of 2 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead KSEA. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,399 ft above sea level (asl) to 16,310 ft asl, an increase of 14,912 ft, in just 7 minutes. During this time, the aircraft covered a distance of 17 nm. The climb was followed by a level cruise, which began 1 mile south east of Silverdale, Washington, and lasted for 12 minutes, covering a distance of 49 nm.
The enroute descent started 2 miles north of Big Andy Airport (7WA0) in Port Angeles, Washington, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 16,023 ft asl to 1,313 ft asl, a decrease of 14,710 ft, in 12 minutes. The descent covered a distance of 32 nm. The final approach to runway 09 at Victoria International Airport (CYYJ) was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 106.0° at a distance of 4 nm and an altitude of 1,250 ft above ground level (agl).
The landing on runway 09 at CYYJ was successful, with the aircraft touching down 79 m beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 75 kt, which was good, and the touchdown rate was perfect at 13 fpm. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also excellent. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21 °C and a wind speed of 10 kt from a direction of 120°, resulting in a crosswind of 2 kt and a headwind of 10 kt.
The total landing distance was 1,164 m, which was 55% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 105 nm, and the flight duration was 37 minutes. The aircraft used 133 kg of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft in question, a PC-12, successfully landed at CYYJ Victoria International Airport, achieving a score of 98.5%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 106.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,250 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft then landed on runway 09, which has a length of 2,118 meters.
The landing was characterized by a good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 86 kt, coming in at 87 kt. Despite this, the touchdown point was 79 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 75 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of 13 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 10 kt from a direction of 120°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 kt and a headwind of 10 kt, which the aircraft was able to handle successfully.
The total landing distance of 1,164 meters was 55% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase of the landing.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and handling during the approach and landing phases.
