Improve the pattern base leg
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,614 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 243 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 152 departed runway 11 at MDST Cibao International Airport, achieving liftoff after a takeoff roll of 656 m, which represented 25 % of the available runway. The aircraft left the ground at 53 kt under calm conditions with a temperature of 15 °C, wind from 270 ° at 1 kt, no cross-wind and a 1 kt tail-wind component.
During the approach the pilot entered a left-hand pattern on runway 11, completing the entry segment of less than 1 nm in 31 seconds followed by a left-hand crosswind segment of less than 1 nm in 21 seconds. The downwind turn covered 1 nm at an angle of 52.9 °, after which the downwind leg extended 3 nm in 124 seconds. The base turn spanned 2 nm at 39.4 °, and the base leg was less than 1 nm in 25 seconds. The final turn was also less than 1 nm and required 49 seconds. On final approach the aircraft descended from 645 ft agl to 28 ft agl in 81 seconds and met the stabilisation gates.
Landing was executed on runway 11, whose length is 2,614 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 52 kt. Touchdown occurred 241 m from the threshold with a speed of 37 kt and a vertical speed of minus 92 fpm, and the aircraft aligned very well with the runway centreline. Weather conditions remained unchanged from departure, with a temperature of 15 °C, wind 1 kt from 270 °, no cross-wind and a 1 kt tail-wind.
The rollout phase was brief, with the aircraft maintaining the good alignment achieved at touchdown and decelerating safely after the 241 m touchdown point.
In total the flight covered 9 nm, took 6 (units as given) and consumed 1 kg of fuel.
The Cessna 152 conducted the final approach to runway 11 at MDST Cibao International Airport, descending from 645 ft agl to 28 ft agl in 81 seconds and receiving a score on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the aircraft presented a good threshold height, while the threshold speed was a little below target at 52 kt.
Touchdown occurred 241 m down the runway at a speed of 37 kt, with an excellent vertical rate of minus 92 fpm and very good runway-touchdown alignment.
With a score of 98.8 % the landing was strong; tightening speed control to meet the exact threshold-speed target will eliminate the small undershoot and further improve consistency.
