MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,184 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 771 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Maurice Bishop International Airport in Saint George's, Grenada, the ATR 72 aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 8 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. As the aircraft lined up on runway 10, it was cleared for departure, and with a takeoff distance of 834 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway, the aircraft lifted off at a speed of 130 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 17 knots from a direction of 99 degrees, resulting in a headwind component of 17 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and continued for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 24 nautical miles. The aircraft climbed from an initial altitude of 879 feet above sea level to a maximum altitude of 13,251 feet, an increase of 12,372 feet. Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 27 nautical miles. The cruise phase was followed by an enroute descent, which began 29 miles north of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and lasted for 10 minutes, covering a distance of 39 nautical miles. The aircraft descended from a maximum altitude of 13,488 feet to an altitude of 1,302 feet, a decrease of 12,186 feet.
As the aircraft approached Piarco International Airport, it began its final approach to runway 10, aligning itself with the runway from the west at a heading of 89.0 degrees. The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 101 knots, which was slightly above the target speed, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -110 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the aircraft came to a stop after a total landing distance of 1,386 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 100 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 414 kilograms of fuel during the flight, which lasted for 37 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 10 at TTPP Piarco International Airport, demonstrating a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was above the target, registering 114 kt, which may have been a result of the aircraft's approach configuration or the pilots' decision to maintain a higher speed for the landing. The touchdown point was 342 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight over-run.
The touchdown speed of 101 kt was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -110 fpm was smooth, suggesting that the pilots had maintained control of the aircraft during the descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 27 °C and a headwind of 8 kt, may have contributed to the aircraft's approach and landing performance.
The total landing distance of 1,386 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 95.3%. The pilots demonstrated good control of the aircraft during the approach and landing, but could have benefited from a slightly slower touchdown speed to optimize the landing distance.
