Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 3,229 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 3,229 m of the 4,065 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,086 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at London Heathrow Airport took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 27R, utilizing 1,594 meters, or 44% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 152 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 20°C and a gentle headwind of 3 knots from a direction of 280°.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it passed overhead Horton, England, and continued to ascend to 27,003 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,141 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 97 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase began 5 miles north of Calais, France, and lasted for 38 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 326 nautical miles. The descent phase started overhead Fichtenberg, Germany, and continued to a lower altitude, decreasing by 21,996 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a brief level cruise phase overhead Paunzhausen, Germany, lasting 9 minutes and covering 37 nautical miles, before commencing its final descent. The final approach to runway 08L at Munich Airport was initiated from the west, with the aircraft touching down 685 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 152 knots.
The landing distance of 3,163 meters, or 79% of the runway, was slightly above the target, while the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.4 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C and a gentle tailwind of 3 knots from a direction of 200°. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, taking 8 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 573 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 97 minutes and a fuel consumption of 0 kilograms.
The final approach to runway 08L at EDDM Munich Airport was initiated from the west, with the aircraft heading 83.0° at 4 nm and 1,357 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with the threshold height at 61 ft agl being above the target, indicating a slightly higher than desired approach path angle. However, the threshold speed of 156 kt was well above the target, suggesting a slightly aggressive approach configuration.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown point was located 685 m beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slightly long touchdown. The touchdown speed of 152 kt was a little fast, and the touchdown rate of -313 fpm was firm, suggesting a relatively high deceleration rate. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.4 m from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path or a minor control input error.
The total landing distance of 3,163 m was 79% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a consistent centreline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 85.0%. However, there were some minor deviations from the target values, which may be addressed in future training or evaluation sessions.
