MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,736 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 748 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport (KGKT), the Vision Jet began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. Upon reaching runway 28, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 100 knots within a distance of 663 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 26°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 320°, resulting in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from KGKT, it transitioned into an enroute climb phase, which began overhead Sevierville, Tennessee. During this phase, the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,934 feet above sea level to 3,517 feet, an increase of 1,583 feet, within a distance of 7 nautical miles and a time of 2 minutes. Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 11 minutes and covered a distance of 37 nautical miles. This phase allowed the aircraft to maintain a steady altitude and airspeed, optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing pilot workload.
Upon approaching Morristown Regional Airport (KMOR), the Vision Jet initiated its final approach to runway 23, descending from an altitude of 1,214 feet above ground level to touchdown. The aircraft touched down 323 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 94 knots, which was slightly faster than the recommended threshold speed of 110 knots. The touchdown rate was, however, excellent at -60 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Following touchdown, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 3 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 52 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 22 minutes and a fuel consumption of 72 kilograms.
The Vision Jet touched down on runway 23 at KMOR Morristown Regional Airport, demonstrating a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was excessively high at 110 kt, indicating a potential need for adjustment in the approach configuration. The aircraft maintained a heading of 229.0° from the north east, 4 nm from the airport, at an altitude of 1,214 ft above ground level.
As the Vision Jet made contact with the runway, it touched down 323 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a speed of 94 kt, which was fast. The touchdown rate, however, was excellent at -60 fpm, showcasing the pilot's skill in managing the aircraft's descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 25 °C and a wind of 4 kt at 279°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment, with a crosswind of 3 kt and a headwind of 2 kt.
The Vision Jet's total landing distance of 1,373 m was 79% of the runway length, indicating a satisfactory performance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the critical phase of the landing. Overall, the landing scored 90.6%, reflecting a high level of proficiency in the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
