Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,709 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 432 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from EDDG Münster Osnabrück Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey with a taxiing period of 5 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile to reach the runway. The departure roll commenced on runway 25, with a takeoff distance of 1,016 meters, accounting for 52% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 144 knots, overcoming a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 8 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it traversed a distance of 139 nautical miles, increasing its altitude by 34,560 feet in 21 minutes. The enroute climb phase concluded overhead EDDG Münster Osnabrück Airport Greven, marking the beginning of the level cruise phase. The aircraft maintained a steady altitude of 35,684 feet for 41 minutes, covering a distance of 338 nautical miles. Subsequently, the enroute descent phase commenced 9 miles north of Judaberg, Norway, where the aircraft descended by 34,416 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 85 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 17 at ENBR Bergen Airport, Flesland, was executed from the north, with a heading of 170.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,303 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 435 meters, slightly above the target threshold speed of 138 knots. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -359 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. The total landing distance was 1,392 meters, accounting for 57% of the runway length. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 2 minutes. The total flight distance was 569 nautical miles, with a total fuel consumption of 4,472 kilograms, and a flight duration of 88 minutes.
The final approach to runway 17 at ENBR Bergen Airport, Flesland, was conducted from the north, heading 170.0° at 4 nm and 1,303 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 138 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing speed.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 435 m, demonstrating a well-executed landing. The touchdown speed of 132 kt was a little fast, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -359 fpm. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating precise control during the landing phase. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 13 °C and a headwind of 16 kt, contributed to the successful landing.
The total landing distance of 1,392 m, which accounted for 57% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating excellent control during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 98.4% achieved.
