MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 13,079 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,203 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EHRD Rotterdam The Hague Airport, a process that took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 24, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,163 feet, which was 20% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 97 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 64°F and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 240°.
The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 14 knots. As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the town of Overschie in the province of Zuid-Holland, the Netherlands. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,017 feet above sea level to 18,880 feet, an increase of 17,863 feet, in just 12 minutes and covering a distance of 39 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started overhead the town of Bunschoten in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands. This phase of the flight lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 1 mile east of the town of Prinsenkamp in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 18,882 feet to 14,919 feet, a decrease of 3,963 feet, in just 2 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 2 miles southwest of the town of Ugchelen in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. This phase of the flight lasted for 49 minutes and covered a distance of 239 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 2 miles northeast of the town of Premnitz in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 15,004 feet to 2,202 feet, a decrease of 12,802 feet, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 22 nautical miles.
Following the final descent, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started overhead the town of Brieselang in the state of Brandenburg, Germany. This phase of the flight lasted for 24 minutes and covered a distance of 25 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 25L at EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, which was located to the east of the aircraft's position. The approach was made from a heading of 248.0°, at an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level, and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold.
The landing took place on runway 25L, which had a length of 13,079 feet. The threshold height at 71 feet above ground level was well above the target, while the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 74 knots. The touchdown point was 754 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 60 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -148 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 66°F and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 220°.
The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots. The total landing distance was 4,117 feet, which was 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 33 feet from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, achieving a score of 87.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 248.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 25L, which has a length of 13,079 feet.
Upon landing, the aircraft's threshold height was found to be well above the target, indicating a safe margin for the pilot to maintain control. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 74 knots, which may require some adjustments in the pilot's approach technique. The touchdown point was located 754 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance considering the runway length.
The touchdown speed of 60 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -148 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, which is a testament to the pilot's skill and attention to detail. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 66°F and a wind speed of 10 knots at 220°.
The crosswind component was relatively low at 5 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance of 4,117 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
However, there was a slight misalignment of the runway rollout alignment by 33 feet from the centreline, which may require some adjustments in the pilot's post-landing technique. Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating good control and attention to detail throughout the approach and landing phases.
