Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: speed 7 kt SLOW on the reference speed of 146 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,267 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,267 ft of the 11,762 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,723 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777F taxied from the parking area to the departure end of runway 36R at KCVG Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 36R, using 5,604 ft of runway (56 % of the available length) and achieved liftoff at 178 kt. Local conditions reported a temperature of 74 °F, wind 9 kt from 280°, with a cross-wind component of 8 kt and a head-wind component of 1 kt.
Climb began 1 mile north-east of KCVG, with the airplane ascending from 1,823 ft asl to 30,964 ft asl, a gain of 29,141 ft achieved in 18 minutes while covering 119 nm.
Level cruise was initiated 2 miles west of 9OH9 Forest Field and continued for 82 minutes, during which 682 nm were flown.
A second climb segment started 22 miles south-west of CYBG CFB Bagotville, raising the aircraft from 31,000 ft asl to 32,998 ft asl, an increase of 1,998 ft in 3 minutes over 26 nm.
The subsequent cruise phase began 11 miles east of CYBG and lasted 2 minutes, covering 12 nm.
Descent commenced 23 miles east of CYBG, dropping from 32,477 ft asl to 31,114 ft asl, a loss of 1,363 ft in 2 minutes while traversing 13 nm.
Climb resumed 23 miles north-west of Sacre-Coeur, with altitude rising from 31,277 ft asl to 32,992 ft asl, a gain of 1,715 ft in 2 minutes across 13 nm.

Climb continued from latitude 56.9713847, longitude -29.5233976, lifting the aircraft from 33,000 ft asl to 35,001 ft asl, an increase of 2,001 ft in 3 minutes over 27 nm.
The following cruise leg started at latitude 56.9161653, longitude -28.6770599, lasting 159 minutes and encompassing 1,323 nm.
Descent began 1 mile west of Buecken, Germany, with the airplane descending from 34,999 ft asl to 3,341 ft asl, a loss of 31,658 ft in 23 minutes while covering 141 nm.
A brief cruise followed 1 mile south of Roitzsch, lasting 12 minutes and adding 43 nm to the flight path.
Descent resumed overhead Jesewitz, dropping from 3,009 ft asl to 1,755 ft asl, a decrease of 1,254 ft in 2 minutes across 7 nm.
Final approach to runway 26L at EDDP Leipzig/Halle Airport reduced altitude from 1,367 ft agl to 77 ft agl in 99 seconds; the approach was scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 26L, which measures 11,762 ft, was executed with a threshold speed of 146 kt. Touchdown occurred 355 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 138 kt, with a firm touchdown rate of minus 348 fpm and perfect runway alignment. Local weather reported a temperature of 55 °F, wind 2 kt from 309°, with a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a head-wind component of 1 kt.
Rollout distance measured 4,999 ft, representing 43 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout remained perfect.
In total, the flight covered 3,939 nm, required 510 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 144,681 lbs of fuel.
The approach to runway 26L at EDDP Leipzig/Halle Airport was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,367 ft agl to 77 ft agl in 99 seconds, maintaining the required parameters throughout the final approach. Local weather was 55 °F with a wind of 2 kt from 309°, including a 1 kt crosswind and a 1 kt headwind.
During the threshold and flare phase the threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed was good at 146 kt.
Touchdown occurred 355 ft beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 138 kt described as good. The touchdown rate was firm at minus 348 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
Rollout alignment remained perfect. The aircraft used a total landing distance of 4,999 ft, representing 43 % of the 11,762 ft runway length.
To refine the performance, aim to touch down closer to the designated touchdown zone to reduce the overshoot distance, and adjust the flare to achieve a softer touchdown rate while preserving the stabilised approach.
