Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,633 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,633 m of the 3,286 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 522 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at SBFZ Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza, Brazil. This process took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 13, with the aircraft taking off after covering 57% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,440 meters, and the liftoff speed was 152 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 27°C temperature and winds of 17 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was 14 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of the airport and continued for 20 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,018 feet above sea level to 37,163 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 119 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 10 miles east of SITL Fazenda Flores Airport Tamboril in Ceara, Brazil. This phase lasted for 100 minutes and covered a distance of 719 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 15 miles northwest of SNPS Fazenda Córrego da Ponte Airport Buritis in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The descent took 18 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 37,063 feet above sea level to 5,478 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 10 miles west of SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport in Brasília, Brazil. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 11R at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 86.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,302 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 11R, which had a length of 3,286 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 133 knots. The touchdown point was 108 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 122 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was firm at -368 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.4 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 16°C temperature and winds of 12 knots at 100°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,554 meters, which was 47% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.8 meters from the centreline.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 941 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 152 minutes. The aircraft used 5,682 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, achieving a score of 94.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 86.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,302 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, as indicated by the threshold height and speed, which were both within acceptable limits at 133 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 108 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a speed of 122 knots. The touchdown rate was firm, at -368 feet per minute (fpm), which is a desirable outcome. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline, deviating by 8.4 meters. This minor deviation may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a moderate headwind of 12 knots. The crosswind was minimal, at 3 knots, which reduced the risk of a difficult landing. The total landing distance was 1,554 meters, which is 47% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled throughout the approach and landing phases.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was slightly off-centerline, deviating by 8.8 meters. This minor misalignment may have been due to the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown position deviation. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a score of 94.1%.
