Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,552 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,552 m of the 3,591 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 409 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, taking 9 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 03R, with a takeoff distance of 1,820 meters, which was 53% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 167 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 15°C temperature and a wind speed of 17 knots at 20°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 16 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile southwest of Artemida, Greece, and reached an altitude of 33,812 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,512 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 85 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 6 miles northeast of Temeni, Western Greece, and lasted for 173 minutes, covering a distance of 1,181 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 14 miles southeast of Walton-on-the-Naze, England, and descended from 33,784 feet to 11,764 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,020 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 30 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 1 mile east of Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 1 mile northeast of Latchingdon and Snoreham, Essex, England, and descended from 11,783 feet to 1,374 feet above sea level, a decrease of 10,409 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27R at London Heathrow Airport was made from the east, heading 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,288 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 27R, which was 3,591 meters long. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 139 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 408 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 136 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -391 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 13°C temperature and a wind speed of 16 knots at 180°. The crosswind was 16 knots, while the headwind was 0 knots. The total landing distance was 1,470 meters, which was 41% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.6 meters from the centerline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,352 nautical miles, taking 236 minutes, and the aircraft used 9,323 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 27R at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving a high score of 95.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a critical aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 139 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 136 knots was slightly faster than desired, indicating that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. The touchdown distance of 408 meters was good, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent.
The touchdown rate of -391 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, which is a desirable characteristic for a safe landing. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained a stable and controlled approach to the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 16 knots from 180°.
The crosswind component was 16 knots, while the headwind component was zero. The total landing distance of 1,470 meters was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.6 meters from the centerline, indicating that the pilot may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining a stable and aligned rollout.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and judgment throughout the approach and touchdown phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and runway rollout alignment.
