Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,845 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,845 m of the 3,491 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 490 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 08 at LUKK Chişinău International Airport. The takeoff distance was 863 meters, which accounted for 24% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots at 19 degrees. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead Singera, a location in the Municipiul Chisinau, Moldova. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,282 feet above sea level to 39,113 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,831 feet, in 22 minutes and covering a distance of 138 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles north east of Zarnesti, a location in the Buzau, Romania. This phase lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 23 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 1 mile south east of Gura Vadului, a location in the Prahova, Romania. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 39,115 feet above sea level to 1,515 feet above sea level, a decrease of 37,600 feet, in 20 minutes and covering a distance of 89 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08R at LROP Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 85.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,201 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 08R, which had a length of 3,491 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 132 knots. The touchdown point was 68 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 131 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -186 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 12 knots at 70 degrees. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,758 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 260 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 57 minutes. The aircraft used 2,592 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LROP Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport on runway 08R. The final approach was executed from the west, heading 85.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,201 feet above ground level. The aircraft maintained a high level of precision, achieving a score of 99.5% for the landing.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 68 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the expected area. The touchdown speed of 131 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have been attempting to maintain control and stability during the landing. However, the touchdown rate of -186 feet per minute was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the crosswind or headwind conditions. The local weather conditions at the time of landing included a temperature of 2°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment.
The total landing distance of 1,758 meters was 50% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control and stability during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the expected parameters. The pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing and rollout phases was evident, and the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance.
