MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,298 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 435 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 33L at KBOS Logan International Airport in 14 minutes, covering 4 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 33L, the A320ceo used a takeoff distance of 2,452 m, representing 80 % of the runway, and achieved liftoff at 173 kt. Ambient conditions were 21 °C with a wind of 7 kt from 200°, a 6 kt crosswind and a 3 kt tailwind.
Climb commenced 1 mile southeast of Medford, Massachusetts, where the aircraft rose from 705 ft asl to 33,223 ft asl, an increase of 32,518 ft, in 19 minutes while covering 121 nm.
Level cruise began 1 mile northwest of New Milford, Connecticut, and continued for 261 minutes, during which 1,945 nm were flown.
Descent was initiated 3 miles south of Huautla, Estado de Morelos, Mexico, with the aircraft descending from 34,439 ft asl to 1,336 ft asl, a loss of 33,103 ft, in 19 minutes over a distance of 110 nm.
The final approach to runway 28 at MMAA Aeropuerto Internacional Juan N. Álvarez was executed from the east, on a heading of 288.0°, at 4 nm and 1,306 ft agl.
Landing on runway 28 was performed on a runway 3,298 m long; the threshold height was 58 ft agl and the threshold speed was 137 kt. Touchdown occurred 435 m down the runway at 132 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 367 fpm. The alignment at touchdown was perfect. Local weather reported a temperature of 30 °C, wind 4 kt from 330°, a 3 kt crosswind and a 3 kt headwind. Total landing distance was 1,264 m, representing 38 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect throughout the deceleration phase.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 6 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 2,190 nm, took 315, and consumed 12,365 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320ceo, scoring 96.7 %, executed the final approach to runway 28 at MMAA Aeropuerto Internacional Juan N. Álvarez from the east on a heading of 288.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,306 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
At threshold the aircraft crossed at a height of 58 ft agl, which was slightly above target, and established a threshold speed of 137 kt, judged good.
Touchdown occurred 435 m down the runway, a good distance, with a speed of 132 kt that was a little fast and a firm vertical rate of minus 367 fpm; runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,264 m, representing 38 % of the 3,298 m runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
A minor reduction in touchdown speed would bring the landing within the optimal envelope, and a slight adjustment of the flare to achieve the exact threshold height would further tighten the already strong performance.
