Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,562 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 925 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Malta International Airport, taking approximately 6 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 31, with a takeoff distance of 1,628 feet, which accounted for 15% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 93 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 65°F and a wind speed of 19 knots at 310°. The crosswind was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind was 19 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Kirkop, Malta, and the aircraft ascended from 1,251 feet above sea level to 22,079 feet, an increase of 20,827 feet, in 13 minutes and covering a distance of 36 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 22 miles north of Zebbug, Malta, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 87 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 11 miles east of Acireale, Sicilia, Italy, and the aircraft descended from 21,987 feet above sea level to 221 feet, a decrease of 21,766 feet, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 29 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 33 at Reggio Calabria Airport was made from the southeast, heading 336.0°, at an altitude of 162 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 5,562 feet, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 75 knots, and the touchdown distance was good at 916 feet. The touchdown speed was 68 knots, and the touchdown rate was perfect at -30 feet per minute.
However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 64°F and a wind speed of 10 knots at 0°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 9 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,755 feet, which accounted for 32% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 158 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 65 minutes. The aircraft used 461 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at Reggio Calabria Airport (LICR) with a score of 94.7%. The final approach was conducted from the southeast, heading 336.0° at an altitude of 162 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft touched down on runway 33, which has a length of 5,562 feet.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 75 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 916 feet was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 68 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -30 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
Despite the good performance in terms of speed and distance, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline. This may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 64°F and a wind speed of 10 knots at 0°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 9 knots, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment.
The total landing distance of 1,755 feet was 32% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline, which may have been a result of the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown misalignment. Overall, the landing was considered successful, but there is room for improvement in terms of alignment and speed control.
