Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,605 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,605 m of the 3,807 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 399 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by an Airbus A321 aircraft. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 08L at EDDM Munich Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,060 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 145 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 0°. The enroute climb started 1 mile northeast of EDDM Munich Airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,479 feet above sea level to 23,505 feet, an increase of 21,026 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 54 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Markt Berolzheim, lasting 23 minutes and covering 119 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 2 miles south of EDEV Pfingstweide Airfield Butzbach, descending from 23,064 feet to 20,681 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. This was followed by a series of level cruises and descents, with the aircraft passing over various locations in Germany, including Gießen-Lützellinden Airfield, Dickendorf, Siegerland Airport Burbach, Hof, Stein-Neukirch, Wenden, Gummersbach, Burscheid, Haan, Dormagen, and Monheim am Rhein.
The final approach to runway 14L at EDDK Cologne Bonn Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading 137.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,226 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway length of 3,807 meters, with a threshold speed of 127 knots and a touchdown speed of 122 knots. The touchdown distance was 399 meters, and the touchdown rate was firm at -321 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 8 knots at 80°. The crosswind was 7 knots, and the headwind was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,521 meters, which accounted for 40% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 6 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 315 nautical miles, taking 103 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,308 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at Cologne Bonn Airport (EDDK) on runway 14L, achieving a high score of 97.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the northwest, heading 137.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,226 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a steady course, ensuring a smooth final approach.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 127 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 399 meters was also satisfactory, indicating a well-executed landing. The touchdown speed of 122 knots was within the desired range, and the touchdown rate of -321 feet per minute (fpm) was firm but not excessive.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 10°C and a moderate wind of 8 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. Despite these conditions, the pilot successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway, ensuring a perfect touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,521 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the pilot had excellent control over the aircraft during the landing phase. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the post-landing phase.
Overall, the landing of the Airbus A321 at Cologne Bonn Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases. The high score of 97.6% reflects the pilot's expertise and attention to detail, ensuring a safe and efficient landing.
