Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,694 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 437 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 14 at LDRI Rijeka Airport, with a takeoff distance of 47 meters, which accounted for only 2% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 168 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 27 knots from a direction of 250 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 26 knots and a tailwind of 7 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south east of Omisalj, Croatia, and rising from an altitude of 1,200 feet above sea level to 32,377 feet, an increase of 31,177 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 106 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase began overhead LIFV Campo di Volo Pegaso Campolongo Maggiore in Italy and lasted for 27 minutes, covering a distance of 191 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 32,280 feet to 33,083 feet, an increase of 803 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase resumed 2 miles north east of San Didero in Italy and lasted for 41 minutes, covering a distance of 301 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile north east of Courcome in France and descending from 32,639 feet to 578 feet, a decrease of 32,061 feet in 26 minutes, covering a distance of 101 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 21 at LFRS Nantes Atlantique Airport was made from the north east, with a heading of 208.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 486 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 21 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 439 meters, which was good. However, the touchdown speed of 135 knots was slightly above the target speed, and the touchdown rate of -236 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at departure, with a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 27 knots from a direction of 250 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 18 knots and a headwind of 20 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,335 meters, which accounted for 50% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 715 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 127 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,753 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at LFRS Nantes Atlantique Airport, achieving a high score of 98.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 208.0° at 1 nautical mile and 486 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 21, which has a length of 2,694 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 143 knots, which may have been due to various factors such as wind resistance or the aircraft's weight. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 439 meters, indicating that the aircraft was able to slow down effectively before touching down.
The touchdown speed of 135 knots was a little fast, which may have resulted in a slightly higher touchdown rate of -236 feet per minute (fpm). This is not ideal, as a lower touchdown rate is generally preferred to reduce the risk of damage to the aircraft's landing gear. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown position was only slightly misaligned by 3.1 meters from the centerline, which is a minor issue.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and winds of 27 knots at 250°. The crosswind component was 18 knots, while the headwind component was 20 knots. These conditions may have affected the aircraft's approach and landing, but the pilots were able to manage them effectively.
The total landing distance was 1,335 meters, which is 50% of the runway length. This is a reasonable distance, considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop safely on the runway. While there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, the pilots were able to manage the aircraft effectively and achieve a high score.
