Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,316 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,358 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a TBM 930, then departed from runway 08R at KELP El Paso International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,152 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 97 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 172 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile east of KELP El Paso International Airport, rising from an altitude of 4,205 feet above sea level to 8,373 feet above sea level, an increase of 4,168 feet in 6 minutes and covering 21 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 12 miles northeast of Homestead Meadows North. This phase lasted for 108 minutes and covered a distance of 449 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 1 mile west of Southlake, descending from 8,666 feet above sea level to 5,056 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,610 feet in 7 minutes and covering 21 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise phase 1 mile north of Richardson, which lasted for 22 minutes and covered 19 nautical miles. The final descent phase began overhead KNBE Dallas Lrrs Hensley Field, where the aircraft descended from 4,248 feet above sea level to 1,307 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,940 feet in 5 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 31L at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was made from the southeast, with a heading of 316.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 739 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 76 knots and a touchdown distance of 411 meters. However, the touchdown speed was slightly fast, and the touchdown rate was fair at -300 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 290 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 13 knots. The total landing distance was 884 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.8 meters from the centerline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 20 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 526 nautical miles, which was covered in 167 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 599 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The TBM 930 aircraft successfully landed on runway 31L at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, achieving an overall score of 88.5%. The final approach was initiated from the southeast, heading 316.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 739 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach to the runway was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that was well above the target at 76 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's landing distance was 411 meters, which was considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 76 knots was slightly faster than expected, and the touchdown rate of -300 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 290°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 13 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly faster touchdown speed. The total landing distance of 884 meters was 31% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance.
However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.8 meters from the centerline, which may indicate some deviation from the desired path during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good landing distance and a perfect runway touchdown alignment, despite some minor deviations during the rollout phase.
