MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,079 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 379 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Cessna Skyhawk started with a quick 2-minute taxi from the parking area to runway 27 at LGIR Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis Airport. The departure roll on the runway was 636 meters, which accounted for 28% of the total runway length. The liftoff speed was 72 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time indicated a temperature of 15°C with a 7-knot wind coming from 221°, resulting in a 5-knot crosswind and 4-knot headwind component.
The enroute climb began overhead Nea Alikarnassos in Crete, Greece, ascending from 754 feet above sea level to 3,206 feet, a gain of 2,452 feet over a 7-minute period covering 8 nautical miles. Following this, a level cruise phase commenced overhead Gouves lasting 4 minutes and covering 9 nm.
Another climb phase took place 1 mile southeast of Malia, climbing from 3,508 feet above sea level to 6,182 feet over 4 minutes and 7 nm. This was followed by a longer level cruise segment starting 1 mile south of Limnes lasting 18 minutes and covering 31 nm.
The descent portion of the flight began 7 miles south of Palekastro, descending from 6,221 feet to 3,820 feet over 4 minutes and 10 nm. A brief level cruise phase occurred 2 miles northeast of Palekastro for 2 minutes and 4 nm before a second descent started 5 miles north of Palekastro, bringing the aircraft from 3,272 feet to 1,844 feet over 4 minutes and 5 nm.
The final approach to runway 23 at LGST Sitia Airport came from the northeast at 3 nm and 1,416 feet above ground level, with a heading of 205°. The landing on runway 23 was executed with precision, with good threshold height, speed slightly below target at 58 knots, a touchdown distance of 378 meters, and touchdown speed at 45 knots. The touchdown rate was excellent at a descent of -61 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
Following a total landing distance of 490 meters, covering 24% of the runway, the aircraft had a perfect runway rollout alignment. Once landed, a brief taxi to the parking area completed the flight in less than 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm. The total distance traveled during the flight was 79 nm, lasting a total flight time of 51 minutes and consuming 33 kg of fuel.
