Reduce your height at the threshold
Even a modest height error carries straight through to the touchdown. Geometry alone says that crossing the threshold 10 feet high on a 3° path moves your touchdown roughly 190 feet further down the runway before the flare adds anything.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,997 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,997 m of the 2,956 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 517 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 03 at GCRR César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport in 9 minutes, covering 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 03, the Boeing 737-800 used 1,456 m of runway, representing 61 % of the available length, and lifted off at 163 kt; ambient temperature was 27 °C with a wind of 20 kt from 090°, a 6 kt cross-wind component and a 19 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced 1 mile north-east of GCRR, with the aircraft ascending from 1,090 ft asl to 35,483 ft asl, a gain of 34,393 ft achieved in 21 minutes while covering 136 nm.
Cruise began 98 miles north-west of Sidi Ifni and continued for 177 minutes, during which 1,262 nm were flown at level altitude.
Descent was initiated 26 miles north of L’Ile-Rousse, descending from 35,993 ft asl to 2,251 ft asl, a loss of 33,742 ft over 29 minutes and a distance of 153 nm.
The final approach to runway 36 at LIMF Turin Airport involved a descent from 1,323 ft agl to 69 ft agl in 92 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 36 was performed with a runway length of 2,956 m; the threshold height at 62 ft agl was above target, while the threshold speed was 147 kt. Touchdown occurred 108 m beyond the touchdown zone at 144 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 171 fpm and a lateral deviation of 3.3 m from the centreline. Local conditions were 18 °C, wind 5 kt from 090°, a 1 kt cross-wind and a 5 kt head-wind. The total landing distance recorded was 1,924 m, representing 65 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was reported as very good.
Taxiing from the runway to the parking area required 7 minutes and covered 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,561nm, lasted 243 minutes and consumed 9,240 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 achieved a score of 97.2% on the approach to runway 36 at LIMF Turin Airport. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. Descent was from 1,323 ft agl to 69 ft agl in 92 seconds, and the final approach remained on the correct glide path and centreline.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft crossed the threshold at a height of 62 ft agl, which was above the target, and the threshold speed was recorded as 147 kt, described as good.
Touchdown occurred 108 m beyond the designated touchdown zone. Touchdown speed was 144 kt, noted as a little fast, while the vertical rate was good at minus 171 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned, being 3.3 m off the centreline.
Rollout used a total landing distance of 1,924 m, representing 65 % of the 2,956 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good. Local weather was 18 C with wind 5 kt at 9 deg, including a 1 kt crosswind and a 5 kt headwind.
To refine the already strong performance, aim to achieve the target threshold height and reduce touchdown speed slightly toward VREF, and target the touchdown point within the designated zone to maintain optimal alignment.
