Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,694 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,694 m of the 2,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 398 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EGGD Bristol Airport, taking 14 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. Departure roll occurred on runway 27, with a takeoff distance of 1,432 meters, which was 76% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 165 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 15°C temperature and a wind speed of 23 knots at 209 degrees. The crosswind component was 19 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile south east of Brockley, North Somerset, England, where the aircraft climbed from 1,567 feet above sea level to 5,479 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,912 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile south west of Kingston Seymour, North Somerset, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time overhead Portishead, North Somerset, England, where it climbed from 5,914 feet above sea level to 35,774 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,860 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 172 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 11 miles north of Calais, Hauts-de-France, France, and lasted for 11 minutes, covering a distance of 95 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, it encountered another enroute descent, this time from 36,441 feet above sea level to 33,199 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,243 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile east of Chaumont-Gistoux, Wallonia, Belgium, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute descent, this time from 32,132 feet above sea level to 3,903 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,229 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 86 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles north west of Gelsenkirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, and lasted for 6 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it encountered another enroute descent, this time from 3,762 feet above sea level to 1,432 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,330 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 23L at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport was made from the north east, with a heading of 233.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,290 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 23L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 398 meters, which was good. However, the touchdown speed of 136 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was hard at -414 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 10 knots at 170 degrees. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. The total landing distance was 1,615 meters, which was 67% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking 2 minutes and covering a
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 23L at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport, achieving a high score of 97.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 233.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,290 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was within the acceptable range at 140 knots. However, the touchdown speed of 136 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a harder touchdown rate. The touchdown rate of -414 feet per minute (fpm) was indeed hard, indicating that the aircraft may have touched down with a bit too much force.
Despite the slightly fast touchdown speed, the aircraft's touchdown distance of 398 meters was good, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's approach path.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were moderate, with a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 10 knots at 170°. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. These conditions may have presented a challenge for the pilot, but they were still within the acceptable range for a safe landing.
The total landing distance of 1,615 meters was 67% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the pilot had good control over the aircraft's descent and was able to bring it to a stop quickly and safely. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail during the landing phase.
Overall, the Airbus A321's landing on runway 23L at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport was a success, with the pilot achieving a high score of 97.8%. While there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, the pilot's overall performance was impressive, and the aircraft was brought to a safe stop within a short distance.
