Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,322 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,322 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 84 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 10 at LSZR Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport, a Cessna C172 aircraft taking to the skies. The takeoff distance was 403 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 64 knots, a smooth and controlled start to the flight.
As the aircraft entered the local airspace, the weather conditions were noted to be favorable, with a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 270 degrees. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and a slight tailwind, which would aid the aircraft's performance throughout the flight.
The pilot then initiated a left-hand pattern entry from runway 10, navigating the aircraft through a series of turns and legs to prepare for landing. The distance covered during the pattern entry was 1 nautical mile in 27 seconds, a swift and precise maneuver. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind was completed in less than 1 nautical mile in 33 seconds, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control.
The pattern continued with a downwind turn, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 44.7 degrees to the runway. The downwind leg itself was 3 nautical miles long, taking 103 seconds to complete. The base leg turn was then executed, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 54.7 degrees to the runway. The base leg was 1 nautical mile long, taking 51 seconds to complete.
The final turn was a short and precise maneuver, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 25 seconds. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 10, heading 99.0 degrees at an altitude of 193 feet above ground level.
The landing was smooth and controlled, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a distance of 82 meters. The touchdown speed was 49 knots, and the touchdown rate was -166 feet per minute, both of which were within acceptable limits. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating a high degree of precision and control from the pilot.
The flight was completed with a total distance of 9 nautical miles, taking 7 minutes to cover. The aircraft used 3 kilograms of fuel during the flight, a relatively efficient performance considering the conditions.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at LSZR Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport, achieving a high score of 99.8%. The final approach to runway 10 was conducted from the west, with the aircraft heading 99.0° at an altitude of 193 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a distance of 82 meters. The touchdown speed of 49 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -166 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of landing without any issues.
The threshold height was reported as good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target of 53 knots. However, this minor deviation did not affect the overall performance of the landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and a slight tailwind of 2 knots, which did not significantly impact the landing. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, resulting in a high score of 99.8%.
