Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,193 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,193 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 225 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 08 at EHTE Teuge Airport, where the DA40-XLS aircraft took off with a takeoff distance of 333 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 56 knots. At the time of takeoff, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 151 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
After takeoff, the aircraft entered a right-hand pattern from runway 08, completing the turn in less than 1 nautical mile in 24 seconds. The subsequent right-hand pattern crosswind turn was completed in 26 seconds, also covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The pilot then initiated a pattern downwind turn, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile at an angle of 67.7 degrees to the runway. The downwind leg itself took 55 seconds to complete, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The pilot then turned onto the base leg, completing the turn in 1 nautical mile at an angle of 55.6 degrees to the runway. The base leg itself was completed in 26 seconds, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The final turn onto the final approach was completed in 25 seconds, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 08 from the west, flying at a heading of 88.0 degrees at an altitude of 138 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 08 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 223 meters and a touchdown speed of 50 knots. The touchdown rate was also good, at -177 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.2 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 164 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total flight distance was 5 nautical miles, which was completed in 4 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 2 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The DA40-XLS aircraft successfully landed at EHTE Teuge Airport, achieving a high score of 99.1%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 88.0° at an altitude of 138 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on runway 08.
The runway at EHTE Teuge Airport has a length of 1,193 meters, providing a sufficient distance for the aircraft to touch down and come to a stop. The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude when crossing the runway threshold. The threshold speed of 67 knots was also within the acceptable range, demonstrating the pilot's ability to manage the aircraft's speed during the approach.
The touchdown distance of 223 meters was good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. The touchdown speed of 50 knots was also good, suggesting that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's speed during the landing. The touchdown rate of -177 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down smoothly and without excessive deceleration.
However, there was a slight deviation from the centerline, with the runway touchdown position being 3.2 meters off-center. This may be due to a slight miscalculation of the wind or a minor error in the pilot's navigation. Despite this, the landing was still considered safe and successful.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 7 knots from 164°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions may have presented some challenges for the pilot, but they were still able to achieve a successful landing.
