MY FS FLIGHTS

Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 2,130 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,130 m of the 3,570 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 712 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The takeoff distance was 1,073 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 8 knots at a direction of 40 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 7 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of Niederrad, Hessen, Germany. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,748 feet above sea level to 13,976 feet above sea level, an increase of 11,228 feet, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile northeast of Messel, Hessen, Germany, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 15,032 feet above sea level to 30,729 feet above sea level, an increase of 15,697 feet, in 8 minutes and covering a distance of 48 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 1 mile east of Karlsruhe, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 89 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, starting overhead Inzlingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 30,728 feet above sea level to 2,616 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,113 feet, in 22 minutes and covering a distance of 99 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 22 at Geneva Cointrin International Airport (LSGG) was made from the northeast, heading 225.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,205 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 22 was successful, with a touchdown point 298 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 147 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -208 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 2 knots at a direction of 200 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,051 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 268 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 70 minutes. The aircraft used 2,722 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Geneva Cointrin International Airport (LSGG) on runway 22. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 225.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,205 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady course throughout the approach, with a good threshold height and a slightly above-target threshold speed of 147 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 298 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 138 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have applied a bit more braking than necessary. However, the touchdown rate of -208 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft was able to slow down relatively quickly after touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C and a gentle wind of 2 knots from a direction of 200°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 2 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 2,051 meters was 57% of the available runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop safely within the designated runway area. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase and was able to bring the aircraft to a stop in a stable and controlled manner.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a score of 94.1%. While there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft and bring it to a safe stop within the designated runway area.
