MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,583 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 417 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 30 at KOPF Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,312 meters, which accounted for 72% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it started its enroute climb overhead Miami Lakes in Florida, United States. The climb began at an altitude of 1,065 feet above sea level and reached a maximum altitude of 37,041 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,975 feet in 38 minutes, covering a distance of 237 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started at a specific location with coordinates Latitude: 29.4681993 and Longitude: -78.3399102, and lasted for 224 minutes, covering a distance of 1,531 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 43 miles south of CWAR Argentia Naval Air Station Argentia in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The descent from 37,049 feet above sea level to 1,736 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,313 feet in 13 minutes, covered a distance of 77 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11 at CYYT St. John's International Airport was made from the west, heading 87.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,294 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing on runway 11 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 417 meters, which was 38% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 130 knots, but the touchdown rate was good at -163 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 280 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the tailwind was 3 knots. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,852 nautical miles, taking a total of 258 minutes, and the aircraft used 11,005 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at St. John's International Airport (CYYT) with a near-perfect score of 99.9%. The final approach to runway 11 was initiated from the west, with the aircraft heading 87.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,294 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 130 kt, which was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 138 kt. However, the touchdown distance of 417 meters was well within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -163 feet per minute (fpm) was also satisfactory, demonstrating a stable and controlled landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 2°C and a wind speed of 3 kt from a direction of 280°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 kt, while the tailwind component was 3 kt. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing, with the aircraft maintaining a perfect runway touchdown alignment.
The total landing distance of 976 meters was 38% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating a smooth and controlled deceleration of the aircraft after touchdown. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, resulting in a near-perfect score of 99.9%.
