Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,800 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 270 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where it was departing from runway 26L. This taxiing process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll, lifting off the ground at a speed of 153 knots and covering a takeoff distance of 1,313 meters, which was 43% of the runway length.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 25°C and winds of 8 knots at 307°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 6 knots. The enroute climb started overhead College Park, Georgia, and the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 2,030 feet above sea level to 34,963 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,933 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 115 nautical miles.
After reaching its cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 1 mile south west of the Greenwood County Airport in South Carolina. This cruise phase lasted for 20 minutes and covered a distance of 445 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 1 mile south of Cape May, New Jersey. The descent took 13 minutes, during which the aircraft decreased its altitude from 34,851 feet above sea level to 1,294 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,557 feet, covering a distance of 115 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 31L at John F Kennedy International Airport was made from the south east, heading 301.0° at an altitude of 1,273 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 31L, which had a length of 2,800 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 141 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 269 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 138 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -297 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 1,124 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.2 meters from the centreline. The aircraft then began its taxiing process from the runway to the parking area, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 684 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 54 minutes. The aircraft used 4,310 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 31L at KJFK John F Kennedy International Airport, achieving a score of 95.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, heading 301.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,273 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 141 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the recommended value at 138 knots, which may have contributed to a fair touchdown rate of -297 feet per minute (fpm). The touchdown distance of 269 meters was within acceptable limits. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centerline, which may have affected the subsequent rollout.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C and a wind speed of 14 knots from 318°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,124 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.2 meters from the centerline, indicating that the pilot may have had some difficulty maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and runway alignment. The pilot's performance was satisfactory, and the aircraft's systems functioned as expected.
