Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,189 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 533 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A Kodiak 100 aircraft departed from KMML Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport - Marshall/Ryan Field, taxiing to the runway took a total of 12 minutes covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll was conducted on runway 30, with a takeoff distance of 311 meters and liftoff speed at 83 knots. The local weather at the time of departure consisted of a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, a light wind of 1 knot at a direction of 269 degrees, with a crosswind and a headwind of 1 knot each.
The enroute climb began a mile northwest of KMML Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport, rising from an altitude of 2,195 feet above sea level to 9,994 feet above sea level, an increase of 7,799 feet over a distance of 22 nautical miles in 9 minutes. Following this climb, the aircraft entered an enroute level cruise, traveling northeast of Hendricks, Minnesota, for 11 minutes, covering a distance of 34 nautical miles.
The first descent phase commenced 2 miles northeast of BDG Andersen Farms Airport in Badger, South Dakota, with the aircraft descending from 9,993 feet to 5,999 feet, decreasing by 3,994 feet in 5 minutes while traveling 15 nautical miles. This was followed by a short level cruise phase, lasting 3 minutes, over 9 nautical miles northeast of 6E5 Wilder De Smet. The second descent started 5 miles east of Iroquois, South Dakota, and the aircraft descended from 5,529 feet to 3,426 feet in the next 5 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles.
A final level cruise phase occurred 4 miles northeast of SD43 Ingle Airport Cavour in South Dakota, lasting for 7 minutes while covering 8 nautical miles. The flight ultimately progressed to land on runway 30 at KHON Huron Regional Airport from the southeast, aligning with a heading of 308.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the airport. The local weather at the time of landing consisted of a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind of 1 knot at 270 degrees.
The landing on runway 30 resulted in a touchdown point 105 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with the aircraft experiencing a touchdown speed of 64 knots. The landing rate was excellent at -53 feet per minute, while the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The total landing distance covered 923 meters, accounting for 42% of the runway length. Following landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. In total, the flight traveled 107 nautical miles and used 125 kilograms of fuel.
Aircraft performance for landing at KHON Huron Regional Airport was highly satisfactory with a score of 95.2%. The final approach path began with the aircraft heading 308.0° from a distance of 4 nautical miles south east of the airport, at an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level (agl).
The initial conditions for the landing were favorable, with a clear view of the runway and wind conditions contributing significantly to a smooth landing. Local weather reported a moderate temperature of 15°C and minimal wind speeds of 1 knot, with both head and crosswind conditions remaining at almost nil.
The pilot performed a precise approach, touching down 105 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 64 knots. Although the touchdown speed was a touch higher than ideal, the aircraft came down smoothly and steadily. The touchdown rate, calculated at -53 feet per minute (fpm), was an excellent measure of the plane's controlled descent, with minimal disturbance experienced upon touchdown.
The aircraft aligned perfectly with the runway upon landing, a direct result of excellent pilot skill and control during the approach phase. Notably, the runway rollout alignment was also highly satisfactory, demonstrating a high level of proficiency on the pilot's part.
Considering the aircraft's landing performance, it's clear that the pilot adhered diligently to safe and standard procedures for the approach and landing phase. However, minor improvements could still be made to touch down closer to the threshold, ideally below the threshold height target of 58 feet agl, to ensure the best possible landing performance.
