Flight Score
Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,521 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 311 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to the runway, a taxi-out that lasted 14 minutes and covered 3 nm.
Departure roll was executed on runway 08 at LOWI Innsbruck Airport; the takeoff run measured 1,277 m, representing 66 % of the available runway, and liftoff was achieved at 146 kt. Ambient conditions were 18 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 270°, no crosswind and a 2 kt tailwind component.
Climb commenced overhead Innsbruck, ascending from 3,035 ft asl to 18,707 ft asl, a gain of 15,672 ft attained in 9 minutes while covering 41 nm.
The first cruise segment began 2 mi north-west of Vipiteno, lasting 41 minutes and encompassing 197 nm of level flight.
Descent started 1 mi south-east of Melazzo, descending from 19,001 ft asl to 3,011 ft asl, a loss of 15,990 ft completed in 14 minutes over a distance of 65 nm.
A brief cruise followed, initiated 2 mi south of Ventimiglia, lasting 3 minutes and covering 9 nm.
The subsequent descent began overhead Cap-d’Ail, dropping from 2,944 ft asl to 850 ft asl, a reduction of 2,094 ft achieved in 3 minutes across 7 nm.
Final approach to runway 22R at LFMN Nice-Côte d’Azur Airport was conducted from the north-east, on a heading of 225.0° at 2 nm and 836 ft agl.
Landing on runway 22R, whose length is 2,521 m, was performed with a threshold speed of 119 kt; touchdown occurred at 312 m down the runway at 110 kt and a touchdown rate of minus 559 fpm. The touchdown point was offset by 7.2 m from the centreline. Local weather reported 15 °C, wind 2 kt from 270°, a 1 kt crosswind and a 1 kt headwind. Total landing distance was 1,230 m, equivalent to 49 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area, a taxi-in that required 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 326 nm, took 76 minutes, and consumed 2,660 kg of fuel.
The Just Flight F70 Tyrolean approached runway 22R at LFMN Nice-Côte d’Azur from the north-east on a heading of 225.0° at 2 nm and 836 ft agl. At the 1,000 ft gate the approach was assessed as stabilised, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft maintained a threshold speed of 119 kt and a good threshold height. Touchdown occurred 312 m down the runway at a speed of 110 kt.
At touchdown the vertical speed was very hard at minus 559 fpm and the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 7.2 m from the centreline.
Rollout used 1,230 m of runway, representing 49 % of the 2,521 m available, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To refine future landings, reduce the sink rate in the final seconds to avoid a very hard touchdown, and make small adjustments to maintain centreline alignment within a tighter tolerance.
