Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,561 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 410 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Munich Airport, EDDM. This process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 26L, with a takeoff distance of 1,266 meters, which is 32% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 145 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 23°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 310°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 3 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Hallbergmoos, Bavaria, Germany, and continued to an altitude of 35,156 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,663 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 108 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Siusi, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, and lasted for 27 minutes, covering a distance of 181 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 2 miles southwest of Mioglia, Liguria, Italy, and descended from 34,393 feet to 7,926 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,467 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 57 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting 17 miles south of Santo Stefano al Mare, Liguria, Italy, and lasting for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. However, the aircraft soon began its descent again, this time from 7,828 feet to 7,169 feet above sea level, a decrease of 659 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another enroute level cruise, starting 19 miles southeast of Bordighera, Liguria, Italy, and lasting for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. Once again, the aircraft began its descent, this time from 7,167 feet to 421 feet above sea level, a decrease of 6,746 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 22 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 22R at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, LFMN, was made from the northeast, heading 224.0° at 1 nautical mile and 388 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 22R was successful, with a touchdown distance of 410 meters and a touchdown speed of 144 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown rate was fair at -271 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 29°C temperature and a wind speed of 25 knots at 240°. The crosswind was 7 knots, and the headwind was 24 knots. The total landing distance was 993 meters, which is 39% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.0 meters from the centerline.
The taxiing from the runway to the parking area took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 393 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 84 minutes. The aircraft used 4,265 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LFMN Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, achieving a score of 96.4%. The final approach to runway 22R was initiated from the north east, with a heading of 224.0° at 1 nautical mile and 388 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that was well above the target at 144 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's landing distance was 410 meters, which was considered good. However, the touchdown speed of 144 knots was slightly faster than expected, and the touchdown rate of -271 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 29°C and a wind speed of 25 knots from 240°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 24 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly faster touchdown speed. The total landing distance of 993 meters was 39% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.0 meters. This may have been due to the aircraft's speed and the wind conditions, which can affect the aircraft's stability and control during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a high score and a good performance in terms of distance and alignment.
