MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,937 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,937 m of the 3,195 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 868 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Frankfurt Airport, the Boeing 747-8 began its journey with a taxiing period of 16 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles to reach the runway. The aircraft then took off from runway 07R, utilizing a takeoff distance of 1,866 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was achieved at 171 knots, with a local temperature of 14°C and wind conditions of 12 knots at 48°.
As the aircraft climbed to cruising altitude, it traversed over 120 nautical miles in 18 minutes, reaching a height of 35,297 feet above sea level. The enroute level cruise phase commenced 2 miles north of Titz, Germany, and lasted for 194 minutes, covering a distance of 1,465 nautical miles. The aircraft then underwent several climb and level cruise phases, with notable increases in altitude and decreases in descent rates. Notably, the climb from 33,928 feet to 35,905 feet in 2 minutes covered 12 nautical miles, while the descent from 40,127 feet to 7,758 feet in 14 minutes spanned 92 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, it began its final descent. The aircraft touched down on runway 05, with a touchdown point 532 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above target at 136 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -139 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4 meters from the centerline. Following a total landing distance of 1,936 meters, accounting for 61% of the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, concluding its journey of 3,563 nautical miles in 498 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 63,270 kilograms.
The Boeing 747-8 touched down on runway 05 at CYYZ Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, marking a satisfactory conclusion to the approach. The aircraft's descent from 1,330 feet above ground level (agl) to the threshold height of 80 feet agl was somewhat above the target, but still within acceptable parameters. The final approach speed of 146 knots was also slightly above the target, indicating a moderate level of control effort required to maintain the desired glide slope.
As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the touchdown speed of 136 knots was a little faster than desired, but the touchdown rate of -139 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a well-executed landing. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 4.0 meters, which may require some adjustments to the approach path. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 2°C and a 13-knot headwind, likely played a role in the slightly above-target approach speed.
The total landing distance of 1,936 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a high level of control and precision during the landing phase. Overall, the landing scored 86.2%, reflecting a satisfactory performance that could be improved with some adjustments to approach speed and touchdown position.
