MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,357 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 161 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 17L at Calgary International Airport (CYYC) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The takeoff distance was 1,318 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 148 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Calgary, it encountered local weather conditions of 3°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 160 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 3 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Calgary International Airport and continued to an altitude of 36,856 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,249 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 108 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 15 miles west of Jaques Farms Airport (CJF4) in Buffalo, Alberta, Canada, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 385 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 13 miles north of Virden (West) Airport (CJZ5) in Virden, Manitoba, Canada. The descent from 37,010 feet above sea level to 2,068 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,943 feet in 14 minutes, covered a distance of 145 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 36 at Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (CYWG) was made from the south, heading 8.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,277 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 36 was successful, with a runway length of 3,357 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 135 knots. The touchdown distance was 160 meters, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was very hard at -545 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were -15°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 350 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,319 meters, which accounted for 39% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 647 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 54 minutes. The aircraft used 3,407 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (CYWG) with a score of 96.5%. The final approach to runway 36 was initiated from the south, with a heading of 8.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,277 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, indicating a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 135 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 133 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting a slight deviation from the ideal landing speed. The touchdown distance of 160 meters was also within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled and stable landing.
The touchdown rate of -545 feet per minute (fpm) was very hard, which may indicate a slight loss of control during the landing phase. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -15°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 350°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,319 meters was 39% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft maintaining a high level of control and stability throughout the landing phase.
