MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,992 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,610 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 07R, with a takeoff distance of 1,406 feet, which accounted for 18% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 56°F temperature and winds of 19 knots at 89 degrees. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 18 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,529 feet above sea level to 29,677 feet above sea level, a total increase of 28,148 feet in 22 minutes, covering a distance of 77 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Hecklers' Strip (2WI7) in Mount Vernon, Wisconsin, and lasted for 49 minutes, covering a distance of 271 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 3 miles south of Rohwer Airport (MN96) in Rushmore, Minnesota, and descended from 29,451 feet above sea level to 3,187 feet above sea level, a total decrease of 26,264 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 44 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 2 miles north of Chris Hofer Landing Strip (3SD4) in Tea, South Dakota, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 03 at Sioux Falls Regional Airport (KFSD) / Joe Foss Field was made from the southwest, heading 36.0 degrees at 3 nautical miles and 1,149 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 03 was successful, with the touchdown point being 152 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 68 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was -180 feet per minute, also good. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 46°F temperature and winds of 28 knots at 350 degrees, with a crosswind of 20 knots and a headwind of 20 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,811 feet, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 402 nautical miles, taking 107 minutes, and the aircraft used 708 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at KFSD Sioux Falls Regional Airport / Joe Foss Field, achieving a score of 96.7%. The final approach to runway 03 was initiated from the southwest, heading 36.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,149 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being satisfactory. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 77 kt. The touchdown point was located 152 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 68 kt was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -180 fpm was also good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 46°F and a wind speed of 28 kt from a direction of 350°. This resulted in a crosswind of 20 kt and a headwind of 20 kt. Despite these conditions, the aircraft's runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating a high degree of control and precision during the landing.
The total landing distance of 2,811 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing for a controlled and stable rollout.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at KFSD Sioux Falls Regional Airport / Joe Foss Field was a successful one, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach and landing phases. The minor deviations in threshold speed and touchdown point location did not significantly impact the overall performance of the aircraft.
