MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,040 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 526 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a CRJ900, then departed from runway 19R at KICT Wichita Eisenhower National Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,509 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 170 degrees. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of KICT Wichita Eisenhower National Airport. The climb took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 55 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,331 feet above sea level to 30,966 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,635 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 5 miles southeast of 51KS Barnard Airport Elmo. This phase lasted for 13 minutes and covered a distance of 337 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles north of Lake Mills in Iowa. The descent took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 88 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 31,131 feet above sea level to 2,172 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,959 feet.
The final approach to runway 12R at KMSP Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport was made from the northwest, with a heading of 129.0 degrees at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,319 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 12R, which had a length of 3,040 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target speed of 152 knots.
The touchdown point was 112 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 139 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -356 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 170 degrees. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,371 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 488 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 49 minutes. The aircraft used 2,492 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed at KMSP Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, achieving a score of 96.0%. The final approach was conducted from the northwest, heading 129.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,319 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 12R, which has a length of 3,040 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed, coming in at 152 knots. This may have been due to the aircraft's approach configuration or the pilot's decision to prioritize a safe landing over a precise touchdown speed.
The touchdown point was 112 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 139 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -356 feet per minute (fpm). This may have been due to the aircraft's momentum and the pilot's decision to maintain control during the landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the aircraft's approach path or the pilot's alignment during the landing. However, the runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled during the landing roll.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 8°C and winds of 4 knots at 170°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 3 knots, which is relatively minimal. The total landing distance was 1,371 meters, which is 45% of the runway length. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was well-controlled throughout the process.
