Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,501 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 468 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Munich Airport, EDDM. This process took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 08R, and the takeoff distance was 1,468 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 155 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Munich Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 10°C temperature and winds of 7 knots at 60°. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 6 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 2,489 feet above sea level to 36,098 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,610 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 82 nautical miles.
After reaching cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles north-east of Wolfegg, Germany. This phase lasted for 41 minutes and covered a distance of 311 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 2 miles west of Langeac, France. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 36,073 feet above sea level to 1,772 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,301 feet in 26 minutes, covering a distance of 125 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 14R at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, LFBO, was made from the north-west, heading 143.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,274 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 3,501 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 133 knots. The touchdown point was 48 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 129 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -388 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 12°C temperature and winds of 26 knots at 130°. The crosswind was 6 knots, and the headwind was 26 knots. The total landing distance was 1,166 meters, which is 33% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight distance was 526 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 104 minutes. The aircraft used 3,364 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, achieving a score of 97.3%. The final approach to runway 14R was initiated from the northwest, with a heading of 143.0° at an altitude of 1,274 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed that was slightly above the target speed of 133 knots. The touchdown point was located 48 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing spot. However, the touchdown speed of 129 knots was a bit faster than desired, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -388 feet per minute (fpm).
Despite the slightly above-target threshold speed and the fast touchdown speed, the aircraft's runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 26 knots from a direction of 130°. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 26 knots, which the aircraft successfully managed.
The total landing distance of 1,166 meters was 33% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the aircraft's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating its capabilities in a challenging weather environment.
