Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,891 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 540 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight onboard the Airbus A320 began with a 10-minute taxi from the parking area to the runway at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. The departure roll took place on runway 31L, with a takeoff distance of 1,512 meters, covering 50% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 155 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 14°C with a wind speed of 8 knots coming from 300°, resulting in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 8 knots.
The enroute climb commenced 1 mile west of the airport, climbing from 1,449 ft to 32,509 ft, covering a distance of 65 nm in 13 minutes. The level cruise phase began 3 miles southeast of Tet, lasting 2 minutes and covering 4 nm. Subsequently, another climb started 3 miles south of Tet, ascending from 33,114 ft to 38,177 ft, covering 32 nm in 4 minutes. The following level cruise segment began 1 mile northeast of Vep, lasting 9 minutes and covering 59 nm.
During the descent phase, which started 1 mile east of Uebelbach, the aircraft descended from 38,375 ft to 5,906 ft, covering a distance of 90 nm in 16 minutes. The landing took place on runway 26 at Innsbruck Airport, with a threshold height of 56 ft and a landing speed of 129 knots. The touchdown occurred 542 meters from the threshold with a vertical speed indicator showing -225 ft/min. The local weather at the destination was 10°C with a tailwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,270 meters, equivalent to 67% of the runway length. The taxi from the runway to the parking area lasted 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 323 nm, and the flight duration was 182 minutes. The aircraft consumed 2,534 kg of fuel during the journey.
Congratulations on achieving a landing score of 97.9%! Your approach phase demonstrated excellent glideslope alignment, ensuring a smooth transition into the landing phase. The landing itself was well-executed, with the threshold height slightly above target but the landing flare executed effectively.
During the touchdown phase, the touchdown rate was fair and the speed was on target, contributing to a successful touchdown point 124 meters beyond the designated zone. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was very good, showcasing your precision and control.
It is worth noting, however, that you landed with a 5 knot tailwind, which can pose challenges during the approach and landing phases. Despite this, you managed to handle it effectively and maintain control throughout the landing.
In the rollout phase, your runway alignment was very good, ensuring a smooth and safe deceleration after touchdown. Overall, your performance during the aircraft landing was commendable, with strong execution in most phases. Keep up the good work and continue to work on refining your techniques to further improve your landing proficiency. Well done!
