Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,025 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,194 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a FFX P180, then departed from runway 34 at LGMK Mykonos Island National Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,594 feet, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 124 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 47°F, a wind speed of 27 knots at 354°, with a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 26 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Mykonos in the South Aegean region of Greece. The climb took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 63 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from an altitude of 1,390 feet above sea level to 35,910 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,520 feet. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 79 minutes and covered a distance of 1,116 nautical miles. This phase took place 14 miles northwest of Neon Karlovasion in the North Aegean region of Greece.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent, which started 3 miles northeast of Balabanovo in the Kaluga Oblast region of Russia. The descent took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 24 nautical miles, with the aircraft decreasing its altitude from 35,842 feet above sea level to 1,874 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,968 feet. The final approach to runway 01 at UUWW Vnukovo International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading at 24.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,230 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01 at UUWW Vnukovo International Airport was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 104 knots and a touchdown rate of -121 feet per minute. The touchdown distance was 1,196 feet, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23°F, a wind speed of 2 knots at 320°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,210 nautical miles, and the total flight time was 128 minutes. The aircraft used 1,937 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, identified as FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed at UUWW Vnukovo International Airport on runway 01. The final approach was initiated from the south, with the aircraft heading 24.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,230 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated exceptional skill and control, achieving a 99.9% score for the landing.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 118 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 1,196 feet was also within the expected range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 104 knots was also satisfactory, and the rate of descent was a smooth -121 feet per minute (fpm).
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 23°F and a gentle wind of 2 knots from 320°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions contributed to a stable and controlled approach.
The total landing distance of 2,558 feet was 26% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This indicates that the pilot was able to maintain a high level of control and precision throughout the approach and landing phases. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and controlled roll-out after touchdown.
Overall, the landing of FFX P180 03 01 at UUWW Vnukovo International Airport was a textbook example of a well-executed and controlled approach and landing. The pilot's skill and experience were evident throughout the maneuver, and the aircraft's performance was impressive.
