Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,023 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,023 ft of the 13,079 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,137 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at London Heathrow Airport, taking 13 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 27R, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 160 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 54°F, with a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 240°.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it passed overhead Harmondsworth, a location in Greater London, England. The climb from 1,069 feet above sea level to 37,012 feet above sea level took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 111 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise, which lasted for 38 minutes and covered a distance of 287 nautical miles. This cruise phase took place 28 miles east of Aldeburgh, a location in Suffolk, England.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its descent from 36,997 feet above sea level to 29,008 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,989 feet, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 39 nautical miles. The descent took place overhead Eicklingen, a location in Lower Saxony, Germany. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 11 nautical miles. This cruise phase took place 2 miles north of Solpke, a location in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
The aircraft then began its descent from 29,010 feet above sea level to 2,818 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,192 feet, in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 58 nautical miles. The descent took place 1 mile northwest of Staats, a location in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. This cruise phase took place 2 miles southeast of EDCS Saarmund Airfield Nuthetal, a location in Brandenburg, Germany.
The aircraft then began its final descent from 3,083 feet above sea level to 1,386 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,697 feet, in just 2 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The descent took place overhead Ludwigsfelde, a location in Brandenburg, Germany. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 06R at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, flying from the southwest at a heading of 69.0° and at an altitude of 1,209 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 06R, which had a length of 13,079 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target speed at 143 knots. The touchdown point was 754 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 127 knots. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -131 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21°F, with a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 80°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 5,740 feet, which was 44% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 526 nautical miles, and the flight took 98 minutes. The aircraft
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, achieving a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 69.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,209 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 06R, which has a length of 13,079 feet.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 754 feet beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun. The touchdown speed of 127 knots was slightly above the target speed, which may have contributed to the overrun. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -131 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or during the landing roll. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21°F and a wind speed of 5 knots from 80°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 4 knots.
The total landing distance of 5,740 feet was 44% of the runway length, which is within a reasonable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the landing roll. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the target parameters.
