MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: off the centreline and speed below the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: speed below the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 13,494 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 3,335 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at SKMD Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 02, with a takeoff distance of 3,108 feet, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 75°F and winds of 8 knots at 339°. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the headwind was 7 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile southwest of Medellin, Colombia, and the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 5,568 feet above sea level to 30,010 feet above sea level, an increase of 24,441 feet, in 22 minutes and covering a distance of 69 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead San Jose, Colombia, and lasted for 126 minutes, covering a distance of 330 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 4 miles south of Otavalo, Ecuador, and descended from 30,010 feet above sea level to 9,271 feet above sea level, a decrease of 20,739 feet, in 15 minutes and covering a distance of 23 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 36 at SEQM Mariscal Sucre International Airport was made from the south, heading 357.0°, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,484 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 36, which had a length of 13,494 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 82 knots.
The touchdown point was 1,904 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 64 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was excellent at -77 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 57°F and winds of 6 knots at 30°. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 4,121 feet, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking from the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 430 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 121 minutes. The aircraft used 791 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at SEQM Mariscal Sucre International Airport, achieving a score of 89.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 357.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,484 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the runway's length of 13,494 feet and the local weather conditions.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 64 kt, which is considered good. The touchdown point was 1,904 feet beyond the touchdown zone, but this is not considered a significant deviation. The pilot's control of the aircraft during the landing was excellent, as evidenced by the touchdown rate of -77 fpm, which is an impressive achievement.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 57°F and a wind speed of 6 kt from 30°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kt, while the headwind component was 5 kt. These conditions contributed to a smooth and controlled landing.
The total landing distance of 4,121 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at SEQM Mariscal Sucre International Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
