Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,040 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 427 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a FFX P180, then departed from runway 30R at KBJC Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Denver, Colorado. The takeoff distance was 1,086 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 119 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of -1°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from 270°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb overhead KBJC Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, rising from 6,580 feet above sea level to 20,916 feet above sea level in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 2 miles north of CO07 Athanasiou Valley Airport Blackhawk. This cruise phase lasted for 28 minutes and covered a distance of 136 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 3 miles northeast of KMTJ Montrose Regional Airport Montrose, descending from 21,771 feet above sea level to 10,038 feet above sea level in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 35 nautical miles.
The enroute descent was followed by another level cruise, which started 2 miles west of KTEX Telluride Regional Airport Telluride. This cruise phase lasted for only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 27 at KTEX Telluride Regional Airport, heading 284.0° at an altitude of 233 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 27 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 427 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 102 knots, and the touchdown rate was -402 feet per minute, which was considered hard. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 0°C, with a wind speed of 0 knots from 266°.
The total landing distance was 1,171 meters, which was 57% of the runway length. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 196 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 61 minutes. The aircraft used 365 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, identified as FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed at KTEX Telluride Regional Airport on runway 27. The final approach was initiated from the east, with the aircraft heading 284.0° at an altitude of 233 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision, achieving a good threshold height and speed of 112 knots upon touchdown.
The touchdown distance of 427 meters was also within acceptable limits, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent and speed. The touchdown speed of 102 knots was also good, suggesting that the pilot had managed to slow the aircraft down effectively before touching down on the runway. However, the touchdown rate of -402 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, which may indicate that the pilot could have applied a smoother touchdown.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot had successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 0 knots from 266°. This meant that there was no crosswind or headwind to contend with, making the landing even more challenging.
The total landing distance of 1,171 meters was 57% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot had managed to slow the aircraft down effectively and had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot had maintained control over the aircraft's speed and direction during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot demonstrating excellent control and precision throughout the approach and touchdown phases. The score of 97.7% indicates that the landing was well-executed and that the pilot had met the required standards for a safe and controlled landing.
