Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,638 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,638 m of the 3,236 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 543 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EDAH Heringsdorf Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 28, with a takeoff distance of 1,003 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 60°. The crosswind and tailwind were both 1 knot. The enroute climb started overhead Zirchow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany, where the aircraft climbed from 1,090 feet above sea level to 36,185 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,095 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 114 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile north-east of Graben, Brandenburg, Germany, and lasted for 34 minutes, covering a distance of 260 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile east of Gomaringen, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, where the aircraft descended from 35,506 feet above sea level to 2,856 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,649 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 67 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34 at LSZH Zürich Airport was made from the south-east, heading 336.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,451 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 34, which had a length of 3,236 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 134 knots. The touchdown point was 130 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 128 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -273 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 24°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 130°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,561 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. Taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 451 nautical miles, taking 80 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,191 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Zürich Airport (LSZH) on runway 34, achieving a score of 94.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, heading 336.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,451 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with a good threshold speed of 134 knots, which is within the acceptable range for a safe landing.
However, there were a few areas for improvement. The threshold height at 59 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly high on its approach. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 128 knots was a little fast, which could have resulted in a longer landing distance. The touchdown rate of -273 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, but not ideal.
The touchdown point was 130 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.6 meters from the centerline, which could have been caused by a slight drift during the approach.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 130°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the tailwind component was 3 knots. These conditions did not significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,561 meters was 48% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were a few areas for improvement. With some adjustments to the approach and touchdown speed, the pilot could have achieved an even higher score.
