MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: speed below the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,509 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 341 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 27 at East Midlands Airport (EGNX). The takeoff distance was 528 meters, which accounted for 20% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 134 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 200 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The climb took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 66 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,241 feet above sea level to 32,989 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,748 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 1 mile north of Finmere in Oxfordshire, England. This phase lasted for 71 minutes and covered a distance of 541 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 1 mile southwest of Oberwald in the Canton du Valais, Switzerland. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 106 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 33,000 feet above sea level to 2,040 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,960 feet.
The final approach to runway 35L at Milan Malpensa International Airport (LIMC) was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 349.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,305 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 35L, which had a length of 3,509 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 110 knots. The touchdown distance was 340 meters, and the touchdown speed was 105 knots, both of which were good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -263 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.4 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 282 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 704 meters, which accounted for 20% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.1 meters.
The final taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 722 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 113 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,435 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Milan Malpensa International Airport (LIMC) on runway 35L, achieving a high score of 96.5%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 349.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,305 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 110 knots. The touchdown distance of 340 meters was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 105 knots was also good. However, the touchdown rate of -263 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, indicating that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher-than-desired rate of descent during the landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 4.4 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, with a wind speed of 3 knots from 282°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 704 meters was only 20% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop quickly and efficiently after touchdown. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centreline by 8.1 meters, which may have been due to factors such as pilot error or the aircraft's braking performance.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with the touchdown rate and runway alignment. These issues may be addressed through further training or adjustments to the aircraft's performance.
