Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,807 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 393 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EGGD Bristol Airport. This process took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 09, with the aircraft taking off after covering 53% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 996 meters, and the liftoff speed was 149 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 7°C temperature and a wind speed of 21 knots at 100°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 20 knots. The enroute climb started overhead EGGD Bristol Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,623 feet above sea level to 36,167 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,545 feet in 24 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 155 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 2 miles south east of Deal in Kent, England. This cruise lasted for 4 minutes and covered 35 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 3 miles north of SB39 Dunkirk in Dunkirk, France. The descent from 35,172 feet above sea level to 32,330 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,842 feet in 2 minutes, covered 17 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting overhead Beerst in Flanders, Belgium. This cruise lasted for 9 minutes and covered 72 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent again, starting 1 mile north east of Chaumont-Gistoux in Wallonia, Belgium. The descent from 32,280 feet above sea level to 24,695 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,584 feet in 4 minutes, covered 35 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile north west of Sprimont in Wallonia, Belgium. This cruise lasted for 2 minutes and covered 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent once more, starting 1 mile south east of Eupen in Wallonia, Belgium. The descent from 24,633 feet above sea level to 3,741 feet above sea level, a decrease of 20,891 feet in 9 minutes, covered 34 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles south west of Pulheim in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. This cruise lasted for 2 minutes and covered 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent for the final time, starting 2 miles south west of Leverkusen in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The descent from 3,753 feet above sea level to 1,561 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,192 feet in 3 minutes, covered 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 14L at EDDK Cologne Bonn Airport took place from the north west, with the aircraft heading 138.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,294 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 14L was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 125 knots and a touchdown distance of 392 meters. The touchdown rate was firm at -351 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 0°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 120°. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,372 meters, which was 36% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxi
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 14L at EDDK Cologne Bonn Airport, achieving a high score of 98.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north-west, heading 138.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,294 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 131 knots, which is within the acceptable range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 392 meters, which is within the expected range. The touchdown speed of 125 knots was also good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The touchdown rate of -351 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting a stable and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were moderate, with a temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 120°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots. Despite these conditions, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft, ensuring a safe and controlled landing.
The total landing distance of 1,372 meters was 36% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently, with a very good runway rollout alignment. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control of the aircraft.
