Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,203 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 236 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 03 at Nanchang Changbei International Airport, ZSCN. The takeoff distance was 699 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 123 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 7°C, with no wind at 225°. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead the airport and rising from 1,165 feet above sea level to 21,722 feet above sea level, an increase of 20,558 feet in just 6 minutes and covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 17 minutes and covered a distance of 96 nautical miles. This phase began 5 miles northwest of the airport. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 23 miles northwest of Yichun, Jiangxi Sheng, China. The descent took 16 minutes and covered a distance of 53 nautical miles, during which the aircraft dropped from 22,270 feet above sea level to 1,085 feet above sea level.
The final approach to runway 18 at Changsha Huanghua International Airport, ZGHA, was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 177.0° at 3 nautical miles and 882 feet above ground level. However, a go-around was initiated at 865 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 18, with a touchdown point 105 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 106 knots, which was slightly faster than the recommended speed, and the touchdown rate was very hard at -540 feet per minute.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, with a wind of 1 knot at 90°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and there was no headwind. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.8 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,292 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.2 meters from the centerline.
The flight then ended with a taxiing period from the runway to the parking, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 173 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 67 minutes. The aircraft used 673 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at ZGHA Changsha Huanghua International Airport, achieving a score of 91.6%. The final approach to runway 18 was initiated from the north, with a heading of 177.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 882 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed of 108 knots being maintained. However, the touchdown point was located 105 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 106 knots was slightly faster than the desired speed, which may have contributed to the hard touchdown rate of -540 feet per minute (fpm).
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned from the centerline, by 3.8 meters. This misalignment may have been due to the pilot's judgment or the aircraft's response to the crosswind conditions. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 90°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
The total landing distance of 1,292 meters was 40% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline, by 9.2 meters. This may have been due to the pilot's continued correction of the aircraft's heading or the aircraft's response to the remaining crosswind conditions.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the desired touchdown point and speed. The pilot's performance was satisfactory, considering the challenging weather conditions and the aircraft's response to the crosswind.
