Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 354 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Trondheim Airport, Værnes, taking approximately 9 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 09, with a takeoff distance of 980 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and winds of 7 knots at 49 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the headwind was 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Trondheim Airport, Værnes, and rising from 1,071 feet above sea level to 15,751 feet, an increase of 14,680 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 14 miles south of Hommelvik, lasting 2 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from 16,457 feet to 27,096 feet, an increase of 10,639 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 80 nautical miles. The climb started 13 miles southeast of Lundamo.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent, starting 6 miles southwest of Atna Koppang, and descending from 26,930 feet to 8,785 feet, a decrease of 18,145 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 89 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started 1 mile north of Honefoss, lasting 7 minutes and covering 24 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 2 miles southeast of Tranby, and descending from 8,798 feet to 1,953 feet, a decrease of 6,845 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 30 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01L at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, was made from the south, with a heading of 16.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,272 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 353 meters and a touchdown speed of 133 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown rate was hard at -468 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and winds of 11 knots at 359 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,327 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 4 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 258 nautical miles, taking 61 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,536 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with a score of 96.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 16.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,272 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 140 knots, registering at 140 kt. However, the touchdown distance of 353 meters was considered good, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The touchdown speed of 133 kt was a little fast, but this did not significantly impact the overall landing performance.
The touchdown rate of -468 feet per minute (fpm) was hard, which may indicate that the pilot could have applied a smoother touchdown. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot had maintained a stable and controlled approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 11 knots at 359°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kt, while the headwind component was 11 kt, which helped to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and improve the landing performance.
The total landing distance of 1,327 meters was 37% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent and rollout. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot had maintained a stable and controlled rollout.
Overall, the Airbus A320's landing performance was satisfactory, with a score of 96.2%. While there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, the pilot's overall control and management of the aircraft's descent and rollout were commendable.
