MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,713 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,713 m of the 4,026 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 300 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 31L at Tbilisi International Airport (UGTB) in a period of 15 minutes, covering a ground distance of 3 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 31L, the takeoff run measured 1,359 m, representing 45 % of the runway length, and the aircraft lifted off at 145 kt. Ambient conditions were 24 °C with a wind of 9 kt from 310 °, a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 9 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced approximately 1 mile north-west of UGTB, with the airplane ascending from 2,532 ft asl to 33,018 ft asl, a gain of 30,486 ft achieved in 13 minutes while covering 152 nm.
Cruise began 13 nm south of Hovsan (Baku City, Azerbaijan) and persisted for 6 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 15 nm at level flight.
Descent was initiated overhead Turyancay (Aghdash Rayon, Azerbaijan), descending from 33,026 ft asl to 2,018 ft asl, a loss of 31,008 ft in 10 minutes and a distance of 124 nm.
The final approach to runway 34 at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (UBBB) was conducted from the south, on a heading of 346.0 °, at 4 nm and 1,201 ft agl.
Landing on runway 34 was executed with a threshold speed of 137 kt, a touchdown distance of 295 m, and a touchdown speed of 134 kt. The aircraft touched down with a rate of minus 372 fpm and a lateral deviation of 4.4 m from the centreline; local temperature was 23 °C.
Runway rollout covered a total distance of 1,628 m, equivalent to 41 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout was recorded as very good.
In total, the flight covered 300 nm, required 40 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 2,539 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 34 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport was conducted from the south on a heading of 346.0° while the aircraft was 4 nm out and 1,201 ft above ground level.
Threshold height was good and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 137 kt.
Touchdown occurred 295 m down the runway, a distance judged good, with a touchdown speed of 134 kt that was a little fast and a firm rate of descent measured at minus 372 fpm; the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 4.4 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 1,628 m, representing 41 % of the 3,997 m runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
Refine speed control to bring both threshold and touchdown speeds within target values, and adjust the landing path to reduce the 4.4 m centreline deviation. The 97.7 % score reflects an overall strong performance with only minor refinements needed.
