Keep the taxi smooth
Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. Doubling the speed quadruples the load. That square law is the entire content of the "10 knots in turns" rule, and it tells you why a slightly-too-fast turn feels fine and a moderately-too-fast one throws the cabin crew across the galley.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,048 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 534 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-600 taxied from the parking area to runway 25 at CYOW Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in 4 minutes, covering approximately 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 25, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 139 kt and left the ground after traveling 859 m, which represented 35 % of the runway length. Ambient temperature was 20 °C with a wind of 3 kt from 209°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and a head-wind component of 2 kt.
Climb commenced overhead CYOW, with the airplane ascending from 1,323 ft asl to 39,991 ft asl, a gain of 38,668 ft achieved in 43 minutes while covering 294 nm.
Level cruise began 3 mi north of PN56 Miller Airport and continued for 75 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 548 nm at cruise altitude.
Descent was initiated 1 mi west of KOPN Thomaston Upson County Airport, descending from 39,526 ft asl to 1,367 ft asl, a loss of 38,159 ft in 25 minutes and traversing 175 nm.
The final approach to runway 16 at KECP Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport was flown from the north on a heading of 159.0°, intercepting the glide path at 4 nm and 1,290 ft agl.
Landing on runway 16 was executed with a threshold speed of 128 kt, slightly above target, and touchdown occurred 117 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 118 kt. The touchdown rate was smooth at minus 116 fpm, and alignment was perfect. The total landing roll measured 945 m, representing 31 % of the runway length.
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect as the aircraft decelerated to a stop.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,024 nm, lasted 150 minutes, and consumed 6,622 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-600 approached runway 16 at KECP from the north on a heading of 159.0° at 4 nm and 1,290 ft agl, and the final approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits; the aircraft carried a score of 98.7 % and the local temperature was 27 °C.
During the threshold and flare phase the threshold speed was slightly above target at 128 kt and the threshold height was good, indicating the aircraft was positioned correctly for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 117 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 118 kt that was a little fast; the touchdown rate was smooth at minus 116 fpm, runway touchdown alignment was perfect and the runway length is 3,048 m.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 945 m, representing 31 % of the runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
Refine the approach by targeting the published threshold speed and reducing touchdown speed marginally to align with the intended VREF, which will further optimise the landing distance while preserving the excellent alignment already demonstrated.
