Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,908 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 484 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 29 at MMGL Guadalajara International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,179 meters, which was 29% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 135 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 23°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 270°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile west of MMGL Guadalajara International Airport. The climb took 25 minutes and covered a distance of 168 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 6,022 feet above sea level to 38,924 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,902 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles south of Irimbo, Mexico. This phase lasted for 129 minutes and covered a distance of 1,399 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 21 miles north of CZJ Corazón de Jesús Airport Tupile, Panama. The descent took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 170 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 38,879 feet above sea level to 1,340 feet above sea level, a decrease of 37,538 feet.
The final approach to runway 32 at SKMR Los Garzones Airport was made from the southeast, heading 318.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,288 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 32, which had a length of 1,908 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 131 knots. The touchdown point was 67 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 121 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -212 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 27°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 0°. The crosswind and headwind were both 1 knot. The total landing distance was 983 meters, which was 52% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,743 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 175 minutes. The aircraft used 8,990 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at SKMR Los Garzones Airport, achieving a score of 99.6%. The final approach to runway 32 was conducted from the south east, with a heading of 318.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,288 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold speed being slightly above the target at 131 knots. The touchdown point was located 67 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 121 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a good landing. However, the touchdown rate of -212 feet per minute was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more smoothly.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.2 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach or during the landing roll. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 27°C and a negligible wind speed of 1 knot from the north. This minimal wind made the landing even more challenging, as the pilots had to contend with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 983 meters was 52% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This indicates that the pilots were able to bring the aircraft down smoothly and maintain control throughout the landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilots were able to maintain control and steer the aircraft in the correct direction after touchdown. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop in a relatively short distance and with minimal deviation from the centerline.
