MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,770 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,770 m of the 2,738 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 717 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey on runway 22L, taking 7 minutes to taxi from the parking area to the runway's threshold, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. As the aircraft lifted off, it accelerated to a liftoff speed of 153 knots, utilizing 63% of the 1,547-meter runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 280°, resulting in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 7 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it began its ascent 1 mile west of Schiller Park, Illinois, reaching a height of 36,008 feet above sea level in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 122 nautical miles. The climb from 1,658 feet above sea level to the cruise altitude of 36,008 feet represented an increase of 34,350 feet. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, lasting 11 minutes and covering 285 nautical miles, before beginning its descent 4 miles north of Tullahoma, Tennessee. The descent from 35,990 feet to 4,012 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,979 feet, took 14 minutes and covered 162 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a brief level cruise phase, lasting 2 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles, before commencing its final descent.
The Airbus A321 touched down on runway 28 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, utilizing 62% of the 2,738-meter runway. The touchdown point was 302 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 133 knots and a touchdown rate of -252 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.4 meters from the centerline. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 11 minutes to cover a distance of 3 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 595 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 59 minutes and a fuel consumption of 4,633 kilograms.
The aircraft touched down on runway 28 at KATL Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, a 2,738-meter long runway, after a final approach from the east. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 59 feet above ground level, slightly above the target. The threshold speed was good at 142 knots, indicating a well-executed approach.
As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the touchdown point was 302 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 133 knots, which was within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown rate of -252 feet per minute was fair, suggesting a slightly higher than ideal rate of descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.4 meters from the centreline, indicating a minor deviation from the desired path.
The aircraft's rollout was smooth, with perfect alignment along the runway centreline. The total landing distance of 1,691 meters was 62% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and a 10-knot wind at 210 degrees, contributed to a relatively straightforward landing. Overall, the landing performance scored 95.3%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and control.
